Need for Speed Heat is the 24th game in the Need for Speed gaming franchise. The first game was released in 1994 and was met with positive reviews. The latest game, Need for Speed Payback, was released in November 2017 for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Players were tasked with seeking revenge against a cartel. The game received mixed reviews because players felt that the storyline was too scripted. Need for Speed Heat may address some of the concerns voiced by fans with a more open storyline and challenges.
